Hi Brain, Thank you for this reminder video on alignment. I am fortunately enough to able to shape my shots from fade, draw and slice. In the main big fades don’t go as far as a draw. It’s due to the higher side spin rate. But it’s not all about distance. I’m glad you enjoyed the video. I appreciate your nice comments. Brian

One thing I have seen is seniors being taught to stand closed and have a strong grip. Sounds good for more run out but you lose your height and your follow through. Hard to turn through when your left hip is in the damn way. I always advise standing a fraction open or turning that ledt foot out a bit and finding an older Pro who is sympathetic to our aches and pains as he has them himself! Simon

Brilliant video, just seen it! 60 years ago at 14 years old I started playing left handed. I was changed to right handed within 2 years and stayed right handed - your explanation relating to Hogan is a light bulb moment for me as I have lost distance for many years, especially at the moment as I start back into the game after 25 years lay-off! My left (lead) arm is thinking I'm left handed (ie going back to my childhood, frightening) - I think I know why now so off to the range to rethink and apply your advice.. KR John near Brighton UK

You would be surprised at how many people are a natural left hander but playing right handed. Or the other way round. I taught myself to play left handed so I know how it feels. Just keep flexing your left hand as if you are throwing a frisbee and just do things with your right hand as often as you can. Brush teeth, poor tea, drink etc,,, It helps. Brian

Simply put keep your weight on the front foot.

That is your interpretation. But no that is not what I am saying at all. Not even in the slightest way. Brian

@@fitzygolfpro Yes, you are correct. That is my interpretation. I just happen to use this very same drill for people who can't stop hitting off the back foot. It's worked great for a lot of people for many years. It's funny how When people master this they Hit crisp straight shots with no hooks or slices.

like the lesson,am not a good putter and on shorter putts my left hand grip loosens and the right hand/arm takes over thus ball goes left. The other fault is pushing the ball right when playing a right to left putt.Tension I think may be the problem regards robert fitzgerald/elderly lynxer.

Thanks for your feed back. Have you ever thought about using the "claw grip" for putting. From what you are describing you could find it beneficial. Brian

I think the inside out swing is caused by a faulty conception of the shoulders. When I was doing it I had an image that the club swung vertically backwards and forward. Imagine your body laid horizontally in the air and the swing you would make by turning the shoulders. Trying to make that vertical swing will cause the inside out swing when you take a normal stance.

The inside out swing has a lot to do with the shoulders, Good thoughts. Brian
